Yoga Retreat in Israel

Join Sole Yoga Holidays on its yoga adventure in the incredible, beautiful and spiritual country of Israel in Sept 2-8 2016 visiting Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Sole Yoga Holidays partnered up with one of the top & most recognized tour operators in Israel (recently written up in Conde Nast) to put together an awe-inspiring program with no details left untouched.

The gorgeous, beachside hotel, Brown Beach in Tel Aviv brings contemporary high-end hospitality to Tel-Aviv's coastal area. This stunning boutique hotel has private sun terraces with sea and city views, a unique indoor "Urban Beach" lounge, a Kosher gourmet restaurant, SPA facilities, all within a short one minute walk to the city's famous beaches. Rooms & baths are beautifully designed with a chic, modern-touch. Wifi in all rooms and public areas of hotel.

You will stay there for the first 4 nights (Sept 2-5). Owner & Instructor Shari of Sole Yoga Holidays will lead a powerful flow yoga in a couple of different locations including the beach (just steps away) and the panoramic rooftop of Brown Beach's Urban sister hotel. You can even hop on their rental bikes and go to a beautiful park. Time to put your regular indoor yoga routine aside and enjoy it like you have never before.

Gourmet Breakfasts are included each morning and a very special dinner is part of the package. The rest of the time is left open for exploration into the numerous and heavenly restaurants that line the Tel Aviv bustling streets. During your free time, Tel Aviv is alive with plenty of joie de vivre. Streets are lined with cafes and 24-hour restaurants and hip hangouts. It is a city filled with a counter-culture vibe and free thinking. It is a flourishing arts and design hub, locally designed fashion and jewellery and delicious creative culinary delights. Tel Aviv is also a UNESCO world heritage site boasting the world's largest collection of Bauhaus architecture.

On the 3rd morning, you will be picked up from the hotel (post-yoga) for a glorious private day tour to Jerusalem. You will head to the Old City of Jerusalem where you will be introduced to this incredible place of intense sanctity to Jews, Christians and Muslims, where holy sites seem to tumble over each other. The expert guide will unpeel layers of history and provide an overview of what Jerusalem means to the three monotheistic religions. You will visit the sites most holy to these three faiths: The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, The Kotel (Western Wall of the Second Temple) and Dome of the Rock.

On the way back to Tel Aviv, you will stop (and shop!) at Yvel a complex set in a stunning old Jerusalem Stone complex. This Yvel history is about a South American immigrant who built a successful jewellery design company and now employs Ethiopian immigrants. You will meet some of the wonderful workers and the very special factory floor and display room.

On Tuesday, Sept 6, post yoga & breakfast and (perhaps any morning shopping!) you will be transfered to the picturesque hills of Jerusalem in a comfortable, air conditioned private van. The 2nd location is a new 5-star spa hotel, Cramim, with every luxurious detail you can imagine. The hotel is filled with sensual indulgence: yoga, massage, heavenly food and wine. Plus, incredible pools indoor and out. Lounge with sensational views and take advantage of the top-rated spa with world class treatments. The food is delicious and sourced from local ingredients. The main wine bar is beautifully lit with exposed brick walls and natural materials.

The rooms are generously sized and beautifully furnished with modern design. Free-standing baths en-suite. Great touches include deck chairs, hair dryer, mini bar and safe. Wifi in all rooms and all areas of the hotel. Shari will lead the yoga sessions in a special outdoor or indoor location (it is not too hot and the dry air is perfect for our 90 minute practice!) Gourmet Breakfast & Delicious Dinners included each day.

In the early morning (yoga only in the afternoon on our excursion day) there will be a private tour to the Judean desert. Considered Israel's most dramatic site, Masada's mountain top ruins, set against the dramatic desert, makes for a fascinating tale that deserves to be told by our expert guide. You will hear all about the lives of the final Jewish resisters to Roman rule, relive their struggle against the mighty Roman army and wonder at their heroic end. Visiting the incredible Masada is a must-have for any Israeli visitor. Masada is a world-heritage UNESCO site. Then, you will head to the Dead Sea for a dip. These waters are unlike anywhere on earth. Chock-full of healing minerals and surrounded by air rich in oxygen, the Dead Sea will leave us feeling gloriously healthy and energized.
